A year in review - 2011 edition.
As we have been doing for the past few years (2008, 2009, 2010) we post in here some of the analytic's stats for the site. All the stats are provided by Google Analytics, which we've been using since the beginning of the site. For visits and pageviews, I'll include the data for the past four years as well so we can compare.
Visits:2011 - 2,831,476 2010 - 2,429,841 2009 - 1,654,906 2008 - 904,830 2007 - 143,648 Pageviews:2011 - 31,962,093 2010 - 32,453,523 2009 - 23,898,958 2008 - 11,458,578 2007 - 1,871,187 Top 5 Countries by visits:United States - 622.419 Japan - 450,575 Germany - 224,260 Mexico - 196,893 Brazil - 86,131 These are exactly the same as last year. Top 5 Browsers by visits:Firefox - 1,189,505 Chrome - 731,431 Internet Explorer - 577,458 Opera - 143,801 Safari - 114,930 Chrome has overtaken IE for second place, which in my opinion is very nice to see. One important thing to notice is that it seems that on Nov, google change the way they count visits (maybe increase session time or something), but the number of visits dramatically dropped, but the pageviews kept their pace. What all of this means is, that the site has not grown as much this past year as in years past. However, the good news is that we have not regressed much (just a few pageviews) which is good. Hopefully 2012 will show another push for more visits/pageviews. As always, I want to thank everyone who contributed with uploads, donations, contributing in the forums or simply visiting the site. Special thanks go to our moderators, which are doing a great job and keep the site fresh with new images almost hourly.
