First F.A.Q. on the site.
Hopefully I will be putting more of these in here with time...

So, how do points work?
The points are obtained by interacting with the site.
Almost anything you do on the site will receive points, even if it does not right now.
This is only valid for registered users, that way we save database space and we encourage people to register if they want to see their stats.

Right now, we track uploads, downloads, comments, blogs, topics, posts, tags and image votes.
So you should expect different amounts of points for each of those in the future.

The current set up is the following:
Upload: 12 points
Topics: 6 points
Blogs: 6 points
Posts: 3 points
Tags: 2 points
Votes: 1 point
Downloads: 0.5 points
Download of your image: 0.1 points

The more important or time consuming an action is, the more points you get, so the more you contribute to the site, the more points you get.

What about levels?
Levels are based on the number of points you have.
Like any leveling system, each level is harder and harder to achieve, so it follows a formula that makes higher levels harder to achieve than lower levels.

You might think that this is not fair, since you always get the same amount of points, unlike a Role game, where you face tougher opponents that yield more points....
However, do give points for the downloads of your uploaded images.
So that means, that a user with 100 uploads, can get many more points for downloads of their images, than a person with less uploads.

Under your "My Controls" menu, you can see your current point count and level, along with the points needed for the next level.
And in your profile, you can get a break down of each of the tracked statistics.

Why does it matter what level I am?
Well, for starters, everyone can see you level by accessing your profile, or looking at your info on your forum posts or blogs, so it will give you a level of credibility and respect, since you are one of the main contributors with the site.

Also, we WANT to create a icon set that will be displayed along your user name that will change depending on the level you have.
The higher the level, the cooler the image...
Note: We would like help with that, since I am not talented enough to create these, so I would love any help you guys can provide.

More importantly, we are discussing the possibility of awarding prizes to members that achieve exceptional higher levels due to the their high participation and invaluable contribution to the site.
We still don't know what level that might be, or what prizes, but we thought it could be a theAnimeGallery.com T-Shirt, or a poster print out of one of your favorite images on the site...

I think that is all there is to know about levels and points.
This post will be updated with new information when available, like the point count for other actions, or information about the prizes whenever we make a decision.

Well IGC i think this is a great idea in really yesterday i was thinking some thing like that that maybe do more people como and regist in the web well im gonna upload more walls because i was banished for along time but if doenst matter jajaja keep going man!!!

i completely agree. people with not only a large number or downlaods, but also quality uplaods that people like need to be reflected in thier score. if u get points whenever someone downlaods one of your images that would reflect that stat.

i would propose to keep those numbers seperate, uplaods from downloads from posts from topics. but that would get confusing and long. maybe if it was only veiwable in the profile and not right under my iavatar on the left there lol. points may be points, but it may also be cool to know how and where u got all ur points.

You can use quotes. Just put [ quote ] [ /quote ] without the spaces around the text you want to quote.

The profile will reflect that. It does not at the moment, because I haven't finished the profiles, but it will.

i think you make a good FAQ IGC, there is some special thing that missing but the essential is in your FAQ! I really like the idea for the evaluation of our profile it's seem to be very funny to see our profile change !!
quality of the upload is so important so i find your idea very good ( i dont upload very often but i hate upload bad wall so i make a very long time to find "The Wallpaper" lol ) thank and keep doing well !!

Yeah! Thats what i do sometimes i dont upload often becuse today its really hard find goods wallpapers in goog resolution and HQ always you need to pay for that but i always get wallpapers free and good resolution and HQ jajajaa

that right kamina-sama i'm joined a lot of wallpaper's site to find many wallpaper but it's still very hard to find the good one with an HQ resolution on free site ! wait sometime and i will upload my favorit wall since my personal collection
