As most of you probably noticed, the site shut down again for a while today, and the support staff has warned us that it was excessive mysql usage (although my cache script saves about 70% of the queries), so we are forced to move.
Since we have experienced this problems with two hosts, we're going to try a VPS service this time, which should not have any limits on usage.
We'll see how things go after we move, but right now it seems like the only plausible solution.
I'll keep you posted with the progress of the move... Once we get our new account on the VPS server and I'm ready to move all the data, we'll have to shutdown uploads for a while, but that's probably the only thing that will need to be stopped for more than a few hours.
The last move was pretty painless, with few things that needed to be fixed and it was quick, so hopefully we will have a similar experience this time.
As for the price, the ads are not doing too bad, so I'll be able to cover most the cost with that... so keep clicking on them and we should be just fine. No donations or fund-raisers needed at the moment
