It seems now since the advent of video gaming, film makers have taken a notice to the Anime and Manga Culture. Which is all fine and dandy but when a director stands up and says: "I'm going to make an Live Action Adaptation of this show!" we all seem to bottle up in a corner fold in the fetel position and start crying? It may just be me, but many directors who've tried this have ended in complete failure. Mostly because they are American Directors working for WB or DreamWorks, but the end result is the same. A giant bag of dog crap! Now japanese directors have a different approach and rebuild the show to a movie with great success, but it seems we westeners have ignored the obvious and just decided to jump head long into a pool with no water? Don't get it? Is it possible for these people to just stand back take a long look at the big picture? There is more to a Manga, or Anime then meets the eye? For example: I saw Dragon Ball Evolution and was horrified by it, some things were good, and a lot of it was wrong. And their answer is always the same: "You just can't adapt a different art style to Live Action Film." Uh-huh? How about you take look at our friends to the east? Is it just me? Or is this all just plain wrong???
