Hi there, folks
As I didn't know theAnimeGallery had a forum (hey, I'm new), I've sent a suggestion to the site's administrator via the contact form of the site, and I guess I shouldn't have. Anyways, I'm posting my suggestion here again so I can see what users think about it.
I've always wondered why couldn't there be a site where people posted their DVD covers' image project files like .psd (Photoshop image format), .xcf (GIMP image format), etc, so that their works aren't tied to their own native language and/or media displacement of episodes (e.g. sometimes I save 4 episodes in a media, sometimes the whole series). I mean, if it is because people could rip their names out of the image, that's not at all true, because they could merge as many surfaces as possible (including their nicknames) and only leave editable the text parts like "the story so far", episode number or image parts like screenshots (sometimes they put this on the covers) and etc. That would be cool.
But what would be even cooler would be if theAnimeGallery's had its own in-browser simple image editor (that can be done using ExtJS or GWT treachery, I think; no Flash stuff). See, you could in a tedious day pick some cool covers to translate and publish to others. And you could rip off that hellish "Episode 2" from the cover you so wanted to print for a cover to hold the whole series inside.
What are your thoughts about it? Do you think it's worth it? I know the admin is busy for such a thing - I've seen his thread of features and modules -, but part of this editor is something I could try doing at school (I'm always sleeping there anyway, maybe I should do something useful).
So, do you think it would work well?
