Need some help with my IP address by Marius on Wed Oct 14th, 2009 - 03:04 pm

Okay, I got this little problem with my IP address.

The thing is, my REAL IP is 81.205.1.121 BUT when I use teamspeak ( am also the server )I cannot connect to that IP.
When I want to connect to teamspeak I gotta use 192.168.1.64
What I do know is that 192.168.1.64 belongs to my router or something like that.
And there's another computer in the network that got the same problem.

Since this is a problem that cannot be hanged, drawn and quartered I am unable to fix this mess.
And I even tried google.
Anyone any ideas? Please?

Okay....81.205.1.121 is the IP I get when I go to www.checkip.org
192.168.1.64 is the IP the teamspeak server shows me
But nobody is able to connect to that IP when I run the server, a friend got exactly the same problem I have ( and we both are no whizkids ).
So, when I try to connect to 81.205.1.121, it doesn't work despite that being my IP.
I even tried to manually change my IP to 81.205.1.121 ( now my IP is selected automatically ), but then I lost my connection to the net.

Ok
i think what is the problem.
You and your friend want to talk by playing a game over internet? When yes you need to connect to existed server and then you can create there own channel.
When you want to talk in home network then on one of PC run the server.
Start Teamspeak -> Connection -> Connect -> Local Addressbook -> right click (under [-]..Servers) -> Add Server -> give him some name -> Server Address: the IP of the server (you find it like on the screen) -> Allow server to...: tick off -> Registered -> Login Name: admin -> Password: (that what was generated at firs star of server under admin).
And i hope it should work. :)

PS: Help -> Read Manual -> Menu Connection -> Connect

The problem is that I cannot see my external IP 81.205.1.121 . My internal IP is 192.168.1.64. And my external IP should be visible. All of my troubles started after that other computer started to use the same router I do and I had to create a new network ( and there I think I did something wrong or forgot something, but Internet is still working as it should ). After that when I went to "Your IP's" I could only see my Internal IP, while before the installation I could see my external IP too. And now it's gone....but when I go to www.whatismyip.com or sites like that, my IP it shows is 81.205.1.121. So basically, I want the old situation back from BEFORE I installed that network thingie.

Yes, I need to start a server because that's what I did for years. So, when do right-mouse on the server icon which on the right on my taskbar, I can choose 3 things:

Exit
Administration
Your IP's

Now, "Your IP's" can be expanded, showing ALL the IP's you got, which should be 2, your internal IP and your external IP.
When I installed that new network here, I think ( or rather, I know ) I screwed up something with my router so now I can only choose my internal IP.
So, I run the server, start up Teamspeak, choose "Quick Connect", write down 81.205.1.121 at "Server Address", choose my nickname and press "Connect" I get error. But when I use my internal IP 192.168.1.64, I can connect to it, but nobody else, except for the person using the other computer on the network is able to connect to 192.168.1.64.

So, please please please.....how do I fix my router ( if I sound stupid or explain some stuff to much, I am not a technician and bad at explaining in english )

Re: Need some help with my IP address by Nujin on Thu Oct 15th, 2009 - 03:25 pm

- you must go to your router settings (probably 192.168.1.1 (in i-browser)) (what router you have?)
- find Port setting (Port Forwarding or something like that)
- then put some name, IP from "Your IP's" and in UDP the number what use TeamSpeak Server*
- save setting and re-boot router

*to find UDP
- go to Administration -> log in -> Servers -> go on Select -> Server Settings, There you find Server UDP Port: (it should be something like 8767 or so (four digits))
- then you can rename the server to quick find him and change to Public or Clan

Then you can connect to the server
- Start Teamspeak -> Connection -> Connect -> Web Server List -> Change Filter -> and use server name filter and others filters to find your server and connect

I think I fixed the problem. It was my router all along. The only thing I had to do was to add my 81.205.1.121 IP somewhere in my router. So, I now can choose 81.205.1.121 from the TS server and my internet connection is still working. I am gonna test it tomorrow.
