Catching up with uploads... 2008-06-24 - 12:48:24

Hello everyone, I just wanted to let you know that I'm trying to catch up with the uploads, but as the site is getting bigger, the uploads are coming in at a good rate, with a few updated every day. Right now, there are over 200 images waiting to be validated, with the oldest one being almost a month old.
If you haven't seen your image on the site yet, we will get to it as soon as we can, so please, keep uploading!! I know it can be a bit frustrating to upload something and have to wait a few weeks to see it, but sometimes the uploaded images need to be reorganized or renamed and it takes some time to validate. The new site, will include a feature to see how many images are waiting to be uploaded, and how many of those are yours. For alpha testers, just go to the upload page, and you will notice a red message with that information. I will also try to create a system that will let you know when your images are validated or deleted, you will probably get a private message with that info.
However, I need to think of how it will be done, so we do not flood the invoices of major contributors, which have hundreds up uploads. Thanks everyone for your contributions, and keep up the good work.

Konata Izumi, if you are talking about banners, please go to the forums -> current image projects -> banners project, and post it there.
We have created a post for putting all the banners for the site. Thanks

I found something that I can upload. I got like 25 of them now. By the way, do you have to look at every submission by yourself? There's like 850 submissions... its got to suck to have to look at each and every one of them. You should appoint someone to help you. Seriously.

I do look at MOST of them. There are some users that I already trust, so I just glance at them.
Also, I have created a couple of automatic checks, that will let me know if the image is a duplicate, and also lets me know about the dimensions, so I can easily delete wallpapers that do not follow the Upload Guidelines.
But yeah... I do check most of them.
I usually get to validate 25 to 50 a day, except on weekends, when I usually do not check any... If you check the forums, there are already a couple users that have asked about a moderator module to help out, and I still need to work on that.
The one that I use, is an admin-level page that has access to EVERYTHING on the site, and I don't want anyone else to have access to that. Once I am able to work on the moderator page I will probably post a topic on the forums for people to sign up and help out. Thanks for the recommendation.

it's not that bad really...
Since I only do a few a day, I can take it. And we don't have that many queued all the time...
A couple weeks ago, the most we have had were around 200... we just got a big surge when I released the new design and showed the leveling/point system. And with the new categorization system, it is a lot easier to do.
It was A LOT harder before, when I had to put each image on it's own category manually, and create new categories constantly...
Also, I love seeing hundreds of images waiting to be validated, because it means that people are willing to contribute and that will make the site that much better.
