IGC, I was wondering have you thought or looked at colo servers? I don't have much info to share with you on them, but I do know they offer a lot of options on bandwidth and hosting services. Unfortunately cost is an area i haven't ascertained a lot of information about but I can certainly look into any options to help you and this wonderful community out.

Yeap, we moved twice. Once because they made us, and the second one because the server could not handle the load and we kept getting errors.

Charlie has pointed me to what seems a good VPS option... I will look at that and let you know what we are doing.

I am shocked and feel like crying. I know I am new but didn't you guys just finish moving? I know that must take a good amount of time out of your day. I was thinking what 1989 said, donaitons. But IGC, you said you did not want to ask for that which I can respect. I really don't know what to do about this situaiton, but all I guess we can do for the moment is to just see what happens, and hope for the best.

I've managed to find some info on the Virtual Private Server.

It looks like the VPS is a good choice, but it's very expensive($40 a month). Moving servers is going to be tough again because we've already moved twice. The third option is abit risky, It might shut the whole site down..

I really don't know what to choose and what's best for the site. I'll try to get more info.

For the moment the site is holding up well...
Maybe it was just a weird couple days with excessive usage, or a script that went wild and broke something, so I think we have a bit of time before we have to make a decision.

What can we do for the moment ?
Schould we looking for a new hosting server or think about the second solution ?

Buying our own server is not as easy as it sounds...

You still need to buy the bandwidth to service the site, and I don't really know how much that would cost, and of course you need a pretty fast connection to be able to serve so many users loading a bunch of images.

I have never done it, so I don't know what it requires, so if someone has ever bought their own server and can provide some info, please do so.
Although I believe they are pretty expensive, and it if fails, then you are screwed... If a hosted server fails, they have to replace it at no cost to you, and your data is usually backed up on their end...

What a sucking situation we are !!! the site is too powerful for the host if I have correctly understand ?!
The second solution could be work in the last worst situation but 500 dollar a year... it's very expensive !!

I'm not asking for donations, so don't worry. I'm just saying that these are the options we have

Too much resources means that since we are on a shared server (one computer for a bunch of sites) we are only supposed to use a set amount of CPU cycles, database connections and such, and since we have a good amount of users (usually over 40 connected) we are surpassing those limits.

When they see a site that does that, they shut it down, because they don't know if it is a spam attack against the server, and they don't want one site using up the resources of others...
